I've installed Matlab 7.0.1 on Athena (they also call it Service pack
1). Although this may seem a minor point release, it is actually a
significant upgrade; many of the Toolboxes have been updated (use
Matlab "ver" command for versions), and the Matlab compiler is again
available for Suns (however the compiler still has issues- see file
/mit/matlab_v7.0.1/README.athena for details).

To run it now:
add matlab
matlab -ver 7.0.1
It will not be made the default version until after the end of the current
semester. If you run into what seem to be configuration problems you can
report them directly to me.
