Ops has developed a system that allows our "daily gazette" software
(which sends out syslog summaries from our central logging machines)
to send personalized gazettes to people for a the subset of machiens
that they care about. I have been clipping gazette messages and
sending them to various sipb service maintainers for a while. In
order to save me effort, and get the information to the relevant
people more quickly, I have set the personalized gazette software up
for many sipb services. This software is currently somewhere between
beta testing and production. One of the things we haven't sorted out
is the best way to manage the config files, so it may be a while
before we offer the service to more than a small group of people.

I have set up the following reports:

email machines
----------------------------------------
usenet senator-bedfellow, bloom-beacon
rtfm-maintainers	bloom-picayune, bloom-picayu, penguin-lust	*
sipb-afsreq ronald-ann(.*), rosebud(.*), reynelda(.*)	**
charon-maintainers	charon(.*) **
anxiety-maintainers	dandelion-patch, anxiety-closet

* The Ultrix special logging truncates the machien name at 12 characters
** wildcarding intended to catch things like charon and charon2

These reports are all configured not to send mail unless there was a
critical error according to the gazette software (eg, full disk, disk
error, machine panic)

charon-maintainers: sorry about today's empty mail message, the bug
should be fixed now.

These reports are all currently set up on both syslogger.mit.edu and
wslogger.mit.edu, since SIPB is fairly inconsistant about changing it
servers to log to syslogger. If someone wants to assert a particular
configuration for a particular service, I will be happy to remove the
report from the irrelevant logger machine.

If you have any questions or want any configuration changes made, feel
free to let me (or ops) know.

	Jonathon
