wdc was unable to get one of his vendors to service a dead mycropolis
disk he had.  Appearantly the contract he had included a clause about
replacement parts being available from the manufacturer, or something
like that.  OTOH, I don't think ASO has any mycrapolis disks, and I
think the only sipb-afs one is out of service, and planning on staying
that way, because it failed too many times (but the current
incarnation may be working).
