So, Greg asked for input from students, and it hasn't come, as far as
I can tell.
It's time for us to get more people qualified, capable, and confident
enough to be in system:administrators and/or SUsers in the SIPB cell.
To this end, we need some people willing to give detailed clue-dumps
on AFS workings. I could do it if absolutely necessary, but as recent
events have shown, I'm a little rusty on the details, so I would, at
the very least, want help.
So, what do I want to hear from you? One of three things (or
nothing):
1 ``Hey, Chad, I want to be a sipb cell admin. I think I'm almost
there, but I could use some extra help and some exposure, so the
other cell admins know that I'm ready.''
* or *
2 ``Hey, Chad, I think I've got a pretty darned good grasp of how AFS
works and how we use it around these here parts. I'd be psyched
to help you give a cluedump on how AFS works, either to
almost-admin people, or something less detailed for people who are
just interested.'' (NOTE: admin bits are NOT required for this
response)
* or *
3 ``Yo, Chad, I think that this is a splendiforous idea, and I'd love
to attend any and all such clue dumps, as long as I don't have to
dye my hair orange or purple to do so.''
Respond away.
