I removed rosebud's external 1GB disk (using smit; I left the disk
defined in the device table, but not "available"), causing a minor,
fairly short outage of rosebud's db servers. We didn't see any
questions about it.
It, along with the disk that was on old-beacon, are attached to opus.
I've made filesystems on both disks, but haven't mounted them in order
to avoid conflicting with Matt's test news server. They're at
/dev/sd1c and /dev/sd3c (I don't know why it didn't choose /dev/sd2c
for the third disk).
I updated config.data in /afs/sipb/service/news/src/inn-1.4sec to
change DBZCFLAGS to include -DMMAP, ACT_STYLE to MMAP, and
VERIFY_CANCELS to DO. I didn't change the lock paths, since that
seemed unnecessary for the server that's likely to go into production.
I rebuilt the server and installed the changed files on beacon.
I assume that at this point we want to install the server I built on
opus, mount the external disks on /news/spool and /news/spool2, and
give it a full feed from beacon, so we can test it in roughly the same
configuration it will be in as a production server. I'll do this if
Matt Power doesn't do it in a day or so.
