Hi,

I have two questions: one is related to installing bison and the other is
related to compiling generic UNIX programs.

I have been trying to install some of the GNU programs on my OS/2 machine at
home. Although usually I can just copy the .exe and the .dll files to their
appropriate directories to install the packages, sometime I would like to
recompile the code to see if I can generate more efficient executables.
Normally, under UNIX, I would run the configure script. How do I go about doing
so under OS/2? I tried running the script under ksh, but it didn't work.

In particular, I want to install bison on my computer, but the file I grabbed
from hobbes.nmsu.edu didn't specify how to install the program. Copying
bison.exe to its appropriate place doesn't do the job because I probably need a
couple more files like bison.simple and bison.hairy. The file Makefile.os2
doesn't include an install section. I guess I could look into Makefile.in and
see how I should install the program, but there must be a less kludge-like way.

Thanks for your help.
