Contradictions...

Sigh. Infoworld is a pretty bad source of information, but they've
outdone themselves in their lastest issue: usually you don't find the
contradictions in adjacent or even the same sentences.
- "In fact, Windows applications lack memory requirements; providing
you can get Windows to load, its applications will run in any memory
configuration (though "out of memory" warnings frequently appear when
too many windows are open)."
- "OS/2 doesn't support the 80286 at all." This is presented as a
minus, whereas elsewhere the article says that *FINALLY* OS/2 has shed
the onuses and burden of supporting the 80286 CPU.
Sigh. It goes on, but I don't feel like typing any more of it in. I
expect that PC Week won't be any better.
On a slightly different note... IBM still needs to polish its act. My
1.3-to-2.0 free upgrade form, sent in a month ago, never made it into
the database, and it took 3 toll-free phone calls, 2 faxes, and 1 local
call to get everything straightened out so I can get my copy, which if I
am lucky, I will finally receive before the summer is half over.
Not good. Anyone want to loan me their 2.0 disks in the meantime?
