More importantly, it only has a 120 DAY LICENSE. This is spelled out in
the License Agreement that most of you forgot to pick up at the meeting.
So mark your calendars for June, and hope that Lan Workplace is fixed by
then (or that MIT gets a site license from IBM).
I still have some CDs left, so if your friends (at MIT) need OS/2
connectivity, let me know. Note that the version of OS/2 on the CD is
"solely for demonstration purposes", so you don't get 120 days of OS/2.

With a little more work, you can get any card with OS/2 ODI drivers to
work, too, which is what I did. I couldn't find NDIS drivers for my
card, so I installed the Novell ODI stack, and used the ODINSUP.SYS shim
to get the NDIS stack functionality. Woo woo!
I installed TCP/IP and NFS on my machines pretty painlessly, and got a
little peer-to-peer action going. I'm pretty happy with that. I didn't
get a chance to play with the X server (since I don't have a host
running X clients in my apartment :-) or with the dosbox stuff. Does
the dosbox stuff include WinSock? I know the DevCon 2 CD has WinSock,
but I don't know if we'll get that... maybe a CSD includes it.
Now all I need is a SLIP connection and Class C internet registration.
(I wonder if my landlord would pay for T1 installation? Hmm...)
Does anyone else have anything to report?
--> Kent.
PS : I need help from someone who knows Athena Framemaker (or equiv.) to
make some PostScript posters for the next OS/2 Users Group Meeting.
Any volunteers?
