As I saw on TV, newyork.com is one of these sites.
They sent a poor man on a desperate wild goose chase in the false hopes that
his son was alive, and it turned out that the hospital list he was on was
false on the website.

Subject: Hacked news sites
I just heard, on CBS, that some of the sites, listing WTC survivors, have
been cracked and are giving out false information. CBS is announcing to not
trust any web-site.
Given the expertise and resources available here, could not some of y'all
approach the owners of those sites and offer assitance, maybe even help
track down the crackers? Perhaps an offer of secured hosting and operational
assistance would be of help?
