Alternatively it's possible to offer both web-based and pppoe 
authentication options from the same port.
Allows users to connect xbox's, ps3's, VoIP phones, Wireless routers. 
All without the need for the web auth.

For us, it's about giving the end user the choice and making the 
connection as seamless and simple as possible.
If that means for some users there's magic going on in the background 
that they don't know or understand then so be it, that's just another 
part of the service we're providing.
