Well so mit-talk seems to be missing out these days as being a primary
place for big ole MIT-wide announcements.
I thought I'd forward this on as the Cambridge-MIT exchange thing is
recruiting at the moment

and this very different approach to education might be interesting to some

Also, for any who haven't seen it, the Mental Health Task Force report is

It has a lot of important changes in it that have some wide implications
for the MIT community.
Everyone remember mandatory dining? Well so a bunch has been happening
with dining in that the Campus Dining Board has been shaping up some broad
goals/objectives/definitions for a dining system and plans to get community
feedback for suggestions as to a new way to do dining. Things are looking
up, but there's a disturbing lack of concrete decisions...other than
acknowledging that the community really doesnt like a mandatory plan.

Also, as a medium for building student representation on dining, the UA
Dining Committee is soliciting input as always:
ua-dining-chars@mit.edu
If a suggestion comes out of the Committee, it'll be listened to more than
if its just one person.
And seeding the rumor mill and such, there's a major steering report due
out soon on the future of W20 and Walker.
And heck, since I'm dumping all sorts of things I'm involved in into
everyone's email boxes, I should round things up with a bit of a
request. Everyone recall how the UA Elections choked a bit in recent times
(ie the Frosh elections this semester)? Well so the UA is looking for help
with making a better voting system. People with *nix clue would be most
appropriate, or people with just plain suggestions on how to make it
better. I think we could pay someone if they were committed enough (prolly
mostly over IAP). Anyone interested?
