Fraternity brothers face criminal charges for stealing signs

RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) Four fraternity brothers from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology will be charged with stealing road signs from
Vermont, police said.
They stole 27 signs from the Killington and Okemo ski areas, and from
state highways and town roads as part of a fraternity initiation, Brandon
Police said.
Joseph Carlucci, 18, of New York City; Eric Dominguez, 21, of Hobb, N.M.;
Peter Jaglom, 18, of Bronxville, N.Y.; and Nicholas Fahey, 19, of
Farmington, Conn., were issued criminal citations.
They were in Brandon for a party over Columbus Day weekend, police said.
The four men were driving a U-Haul moving truck on Route 7 on Oct. 8 when
a passer-by noticed a sign that read ''Welcome to the Town of Plymouth''
in the back of the truck, police said. The passer-by called the Brandon Police.
Police intercepted the truck.
Patrolman Christopher Boucher said he saw Plymouth's ''Welcome'' sign in
the back of the truck before the men could shut the cargo door.
The wooden sign is hand-carved and hand-painted and worth about $1,000,
police said.
Police also recovered town, road and ski trail signs.
