In one of my classes today we had a little discussion about MIT and
this Marilee Jones letter, and I was struck by how many people had not
even heard of it at all.
If one objective is to dicredit her mode of thinking, we need to
embark on an aggressive publicity campaign to make people aware
that it is people like *her* who are running our Admissions office.
Tibbett's idea of a "top ten transgressions" list would be
appropriate here, but so would handing out flyers, putting up
posters, and sending the text of her article to lists other
than these so that those who are not normally in the loop can
learn and get outraged.
And outrage from a lot of people across campus may just help.
