Dear Mike,
Are you not the very Mike Rolish who spammed my club's
list (i.e. you were not a member, yet posted anyhow)
inviting people from our club to attend the event? I
guess it is ok to be disruptive and break "rules" when it
is for the furthering of your views...
You inform us that you are not a skin-head. That is
the first good news I have had all night.
What really amuses me is that I am not, never have been
and will not any time in the foreseeable future be
a communist. (And not just because discrimination against
communists is legal as per the civil rights act... so much for
freedom of speech and assembly, or thought, for that matter.)
Even more amusing is that you have absolutely no idea
on which grounds I disagree with your wonderful speaker because
no one else in the room was given a chance to complete a point
in counter to his assertions and myth-making. I don't mind
that the guy wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but I do mind
that he was indignant when even I had listened to a good twenty
minutes of his views, yet audience members had to follow strict time
limits in phrasing their questions. And of course "speech giving"
was tolerated when it was someone who seemed to agree with him,
it was just those that didn't that were berated and silenced.
It is true I didn't hear his whole talk. It is true I
put on my fuzzy helmet mask after he started characterizing ALL
environmentalists as "eco-terrorists." And a happy earth day to you,
too.
The thing that I don't understand is why you would invite us to
that poor excuse for a talk and expect us to silently be
proseletyzed to? I was not at all disruptive before the speaker
started berating questioners during the Q&A. If you wanted to restrict
it to the choir, why spam the Social Justice Cooperative announcement
list? Or has ROTC gotten you a little too comfortable with
fascism?
If your views can't hold up under even a modest amount of
scrutiny, you might want to look for some better ones
instead of silencing those who disagree.
And don't flatter yourself that you are my enemy. You
are merely the tool of my enemy...
What are you so damned afraid of? Your the one whose got a gun
and military training...
