with very high expectations, and Gary Danko did not disappoint. Last year I took him to Atelier Crenn (I know, I know, I set 14899607 bar too high). It's a little loud when you walk in, but 14899607 dining area is quieter and more intimate. We started off dinner with drinks - BF ordered Gary's magarita (& later, a Moscow mule) & I ordered oolong tea. I tried BF's Moscow mule & it was okay. 14899607 Slanted Door still makes 14899607 best Moscow mules in 14899607 city. Our server brought out an amuse-bouche made of avocado puree and some pickled vegetables, which we consumed while we looked over 14899607 menus. We decided on a four-course meal: 1st Course: Crispy Farm Egg with White Polenta, Royal Trumpet Mushrooms, Fris??e and Pancetta. This was probably my favorite dish of 14899607 night (14899607 seared scallops coming in at a close second). Everything was perfect & delicious together. 14899607 crispy farm egg was my favorite. I imagine they poached 14899607 egg first, covered it with panko & then fried. Sooo good. I need to learn how to make eggs like that. 2nd Course: Seared Sea Scallops w/ Parsnip Pur??e, Melted Leeks and King Trumpet Mushrooms. Like I mentioned earlier, this was my second favorite dish of 14899607 night, super rich and delicious. I cut my scallops into very small pieces, because I wanted to savor 14899607 dish for as long as possible. 3rd Course: Lemon Pepper Duck Breast with Duck Hash, Bacon Braised Endive & Rhubarb. 14899607 duck was cooked perfectly to medium, but slightly lukewarm when I received it (we did wait quite a bit between 14899607 2nd & 3rd course). But no big deal, it was still delicious. I really enjoyed 14899607 duck hash w/14899607 potatoes. 14899607 rhubarb added a little sweetness to 14899607 dish, which really worked. 14899607 only thing I didn't quite enjoy was 14899607 endive, which I found a little bitter. 4th Course: Chocolate souffle with two sauces (vanilla creme & chocolate sauces, mmm). I saw this on 7x7's list of SF's Iconic Desserts, so I knew I had to try it, even though 14899607 trio of creme brulee and 14899607 trio of macaron ice cream sandwiches looked tempting. Decadent, rich & creamy --- I think 14899607 BF liked it more than his own dessert. We both ordered lattes with our dessert. (My BF ordered 14899607 risotto, scallops,
