Why did I get yelled at, you ask? 7215099 I made a huge mistake, I suppose. I ordered English breakfast with some toast, but I had no idea the toast doesn't come at the same time as the breakfast. When I went to pick up the breakfast platter, the guy who's dispatching the food asked if I also ordered a side of toast(furiously). Said yes, and he pushed the toast plate over and yelled "I've been shouting for you to pick up your toast for the past 10 minutes!". OK, I'm sorry that I didn't know every rule in this restaurant, but hey I brought cash, I waited in line patiently, I said to-maa-to instead of to-mae-to... <p><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><span style="font-size: 12px; color: #f4f5f5;">My bf and I had an impromptu stop in Sonoma before heading back into the city. We started off trying to be spontaneous and going to random spots, but places were slowly closing down for the night. Nevertheless, we persisted 7215099 and found The Girl & The fig. We were given an estimated wait time of 2 hours and decided to accept since we were still exploring the rest of the area. Surprisingly, that wait was cut down in half! I conveniently received a text message regarding our table after only an hour into our wait.
When we got back, we were seated at the front window, which was kind of awkward. There's just something about carrying a convo and eating dinner in front of a glass window that freaks me out. Anyway, the restaurant seems like a converted house so space here is utilized to the max. 7215099 Our neighboring table was so close that I was able to hear one of the diners ask his table if they wanted to share the pork belly appetizer 3 times! I was annoyed to the point that I wanted to look over and scream, "No, they don't want pork belly, that's why they are ignoring your question!" I digress.
We ordered a charcuterie plate, sardine appetizer, duck confit, and salmon entree. All dishes were aesthetically pleasing to the eye, and equally delicious. Of all the cheeses we tried, the Brezain was definitely my favorite with it's 7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee smokey flavors. The charcuterie plate also had a delightful fig cake that my bf could not get enough of! I was surprised with how much food the sardine appetizer came with. I didn't realize there would be 2 sardines, but yet they were there staring back at me. By the time we reached our entrees, I was almost full. However, I was able to savor some worthy bites of my tender duck confit before throwing in the towel. My bf's salmon filet was cooked perfectly so no complaints whatsoever there.
Our server was sweet, but busy. She was able 7215099 to give us great recommendations, but at the same time was preoccupied with other thoughts. She would remove items from our table when we told her we were still working on them.
