<p><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><span style="font-size: 12px; color: #f4f5f5;">"I have no idea when I will ever be in Austin, TX but that monte 11312852 cristo truck looks like sex" --message to me from Elite Yelper stalking my bookmarks. I had BMd "Hey!...You Gonna Eat or What?" since it came up #1 on Yelp in Austin, without giving it much of a look. Once I heard it was like sex, I decided it was something I could really get behind. Since I also like being on top of things, I checked it out further, in case the opportunity to come here arose.
After being in town a couple days, 11312852 I got up for it once the weekend was upon us. The line was consistently about 15 deep on a Saturday afternoon, although it moved at a good pace.
I, of course, got the Monte Cristo since it's what put them on the map. The Chef not only delivers it to you, but also describes it in detail. This personal touch shows their pride and puts smiles on the faces of many customers. 7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee Where they place each slice on it and what ingredients are included is very deliberate - they just don't throw everything in it hoping it will stick.
Accompanied by fresh homemade chips, the Monte Cristo is beer-battered and is made up of pit-smoked ham, mesquite-smoked turkey, cheddar, and provolone cheese. It is topped by powdered sugar and includes homemade 11312852 cherry & fig jelly to dip it in, so it's sweet and savory. After changing positions (to take pics), I started off with a small bite and before I knew it, was really into it.
Right after I finished, the Chef was walking by to deliver a meal to another group and asked me (by name) how I liked my food. 11312852 Just a little thing like recalling my name made the experience more fulfilling, although I guess it wasn't like sex after all since my name was remembered.
If you're with others that may not be fans of monte cristos, they can select from a few other sandwiches too. There are also lots of other trucks in this spot (The Picnic), such as Kebobalicious and Turf N' Surf Po Boy, as well as Skinny Limits (which appears to be where the more fit/attractive types congregate). But on this day, to me the Monte Cristo was the hottest thing around.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee
