Amal -
I don't mean to insult you personally. I agree that it is ok for you to go
out, have fun, and maybe screw up. I just want to let you know that you
should be somewhat thankful that the suit was rented in the name of the
whole class/ringcomm. Otherwise, no one would be covering you. I do think
you took the right path in saying you would attempt to pay for it with
donations and pay for it yourself. That takes a lot of guts and I really do
mean that. I find it insulting though, that you rip on a friend of mine or
me over the entire list. If you have something to say to me, say it to me.
I don't mean to burn any bridges, but do you really think that 650 dollars
is well spent on this instead of some class activity? I think you are a
good, smart, and friendly person. You (or your friends) did make a mistake
because you were responsible to the class for what you borrowed. Why didn't
you show us what you did before you found out you owed 650? Why didn't we
hear about it right after it happened? It is funny to think that the entire
UA elections for president were turned upsidown by the spending of a
discretionary fund, and now we aren't supposed to care that 650 dollars
might not be spent on what they were supposed to be spent on? Look, I
respect you and your friends for having the guts to take a risk. I don't
respect, though, that you respond (after others bail you out) with some
sort of entitlement idea and you insult me who actually stepped back for a
minute and thought about what happened and brought up what I believe to be
an important point.
