That *is* a little weird. Do they normally archive only front-page,
sports, nation, columns, comics (and the associated images)? Is it
an issue of the storage space required for the maybe 2 additional
articles per issue?

I agree. I didn't get that either. I mean, not using newlines when
you ask people not to mess with your posters doesn't make you a bitch!
(It does make the messages harder to read though... I really can't pay
attention long enough to deal without line and paragraph breaks.)
Really though, the bitch thing didn't make sense here. The message
was arguably spammy, but it was entirely reasonable to ask the people
who were doing the thing to stop doing it (and, as I said in personal
email, it was reasonable whether or not they were other candidates).

No, "busting balls" is IME always about busting another person's balls
(and can be done by men or women). Thus if your opponent is female,
she is invincible! ;-)
Women and men can equally, however, put their noses to the grindstone,
bust their asses, or work their tails off.
In all seriousness, I've always seen busting balls more as causing
(metaphorical) pain, not about taking away power, and also not
analogous to busting one's (own) ass. And yeah, the unspoken
assumption is that anyone you'd want to influence that way is male.
