Re: confidences
I always find it easier to put my feelings into email than voice. I
have sometimes written a flame, or a very personal letter, only to
never send it. (For that matter, I can remember one physical letter I
wrote about 4 times over as many months, but never mailed.) It works.
It largely takes the place of the clergy for non-religious people...
I've also found that I get more personal in mail sent to people who
are more distant. People I don't associate with, or who have never
seen me often know me better than those who I see every day.
