i'm inclined to say that you keep too much e-mail around.
i get a *lot* of e-mail ... i have 150 messages in my RMAIL
file (half of which simply need to be filed someplace), and
another 200 or so in .Mail/inbox. none of these messages
is over a month old.
if you're replying to four-month-old mail, then you're doing
the poor slob at the other end of that mail a disservice.
