The Maine courts aren't likely to take a sexist reading,
even if the proposed ammendment to make the State Constitution
gender-neutral did fail. (I can't remember.) Considering
how popular hunting is, they probably won't be very restricitve
on kids using guns. Heck, kids don't even need a hunting licence
until they are 14. (But can hunt before then.)
Note: Rednecks do exist in Maine, especially from the
state capitol north.
