I don't think that I would have any trouble going out with a woman who was
smarter than I.  For one thing, just about all the women with whom I deal on
a regular basis (at MIT) are, in some respect, smarter than I am.  I don't
have any trouble with this.

In general, however, I think that, yes, most people have this sort of hangup.

Past a certain degree of "smartness" I think it really couldn't possibly make
any sort of difference, but I suppose I'm in a minority.

You aren't the only one who feels this way, and yes, you are back in the days
of "barefoot and pregnant."

I think that your friends on the cruise do, in fact, have a problem with "MIT Women."
For one thing, it's probably not socially acceptable to go out with one.
Doesn't matter. They were probably too stupid for you anyway.
