Okay, I thought _real hard_ to come up with a silver lining on this one. Consider: - It will be a peaceful transfer of power. So, the wrong guy won, but lets put it in perspective: no violence at the polls, no bribery of election officials, no forced voting, no threatened coup if the military's candidate didn't win. Look around the world and see how often that sort of thing happens. - He ain't Ronald Reagan. This one puts a big smile on my face. - He's got no mandate. He didn't run on any sort of issues other than "No furloughs" and "gentler, kinder America." So he can't claim any national endorsement of policies that he's gonna make up between now and January. - We got a couple in the House and a couple in the Senate. See the point above. Without Reagan's claim of mandate and without Reagan's charisma, Bush is going to HAVE to REALLY work with Congress to get anywhere. And we have the Congress. - He ain't Ronald Reagan. It bears repeating. Well, it made me feel better. Sort of. -ts
