Depending upon your insurance company, filing a claim may not trigger a
premium rise since you weren't driving the car at the time of the
damage.  Non-driving damage is supposed to be factored in to your theft
etc. coverage.  So call the company and ask.  Many also will forego a
premium rise if the damage is under a set dollar amount.

My own insurance company, here in Maryland, even lets you have one minor
accident where you're at fault without a premium rise if the dmage isn't
too expensive!

On the other hand, a dented and dirty car is much less likely to be
stolen or broken into ...
