Not to ruin the joke, but one of the reasons large SIPB meetings are
intolerable is that it takes center stage whenever:
* Someone discovers a mouse in the office
* Someone enters the room
* Someone exits the room
* Someone runs into a big monster in Wolfenstein
* Someone's build doesn't work
* etc. (I'm uninspired tonight)
It might have helped if I had stood further from the door, but I
couldn't talk for more than ten seconds at a time the other night
without something interrupting (and, of course, once there's any noise
in the office, people feel justified talking about POSIX standards
issues or whatever, as long as they're not as loud as the general
noise level). It's really amazing how desperate people are for
distractions--usually at the expense of other people's patience--
during SIPB meetings.
