I realize i don't fully understand the situation, but I wouldn't agree with
this conclusion after your description.
There's also a difference between the complete inability to grasp simple
algebra and being a slow learner. There's also a difference between the
real importance of being able to understand simple algebra and
undersatnding much more important issues.
