ok, the person i talked to was wrong. i'm sticking to the information
in last years course bulletin, which sounds a lot more like it.
in a class with a final exam, no written exams can be given, and no
assignments can be due, during the 6 days before the reading period
starts. in a class with no final exam, either one written in-class
exam or one assignment can be due during the time 6 days before the
start of reading period.
that sounds a lot better. (i'm relieved.)
