Incidentally, please don't respond to this month's little joys and
pleasures by saying "at least your car's OK" (like two friends of mine
did). This whole thing started off with car trouble. A week before
Jerri broke up with me, the frame was cracked ($560). The day after we
broke up, my transmission died ($850).
Also, please don't tell me that "things happen in threes." I'm worried
that this batch is three sets of three, or something ridiculous like
that.
