My mother teaches a class on pregnancy and childbirth at the New England
School of Acupunture. She recently discovered that despite the protests
of a number of students, a convicted wife batterer has been accepted as
a student and, should the school not come to its senses, is going to be
licensed as a health care practitioner.
Of course, these people, though perfectly good acupuncturists who really
do help a lot of people, don't all believe in the germ theory.
AAAAGH. Oh well. My mother told them she wouldn't teach him,
unsurprisingly. And I'm not convinced they'll be able to find anyone
else.
