new prescription? get a second opinion. Old one? Check the copy... I
just got new lenses, high-index plastic with anti-glare coating. First
round: left eye was completely wrong. They re-read my old glasses, and
decided "oh yeah, they don't match" and made new ones. Then they put
them in the frames -- and broke them. So they loaned me my second
choice frames while they ordered the new ones. Things looked a little
wierd... and one day, in bright light, I realized the problem --
serious chromatic aberration outside the center circle... so when I
went back for the new frames, I explained the problem; after I
convinced them (I avoided using jargon, so I knew they understood me
when *they* said chromatic aberration :-) and so they're making new
lenses without the anti-glare ("AV") coating. If that doesn't work,
though, they'll make me another set in normal plastic... but after
wearing these for 3 weeks, the normal plastic ones feel *heavy*...
