sigh. I was pissed off at a certain person and said some things which I didn't think were very offensive but which seemed to offend this person a lot; he's an international student from Pakistan. How important is it to other cultures to be "polite" (whatever that is)? I'm so used to being tolerant to insults/curses/etc... is this just an American thing?
