back when we would have real trees in our house, when we
lived in Ohio, we'd actually go to a place that let us dig
up a live tree and keep a big ball of dirt around the bottom.
This let us let it live through christmas, and then we'd
plant the tree in our yard after the season. I thought it
was a wonderful tradition, that celebrated many things about
christmas. When we moved to Minnesota, it turned out that
around christmas time, the ground would freeze solid, so we
couldn't do that anymore. So we got a plastic tree :(
I really don't like the idea of spreading some white chemical
junk on a dead tree to make it look like a live tree with
snow on it.
