Sigh. Right. Let me drag out my soapbox. Ahem.
Out in CA (and i believe, in places where snow doesn't fall),
the people who sell xmas trees spray rosin (i think that's
the stuff that's used) plus fire-retardent white gook over
a tree. it's supposed to look like snow on the tree. way
back when when the technology was new, the stuff was horribly
flammable and looked awful; nowadays, it's as flammable as
water, and looks really good (i should know; i've seen snow
on trees).
Naturally, people out here don't want to be reminded of snow.
Sigh.
