Celtics great Larry Bird announced his retirement today.
It's sad to see him go; the first great player on any of the teams that
I follow who I've seen from rookie season to retirement.
However, retiring after winning a gold medal is the way to go; his back
hurts to much top handle a full NBA season, and I'd hate to see my last
playing memories of him be a meserable attempt to struggle through an
NBA season, unable to make the big play anymore because of physical
deterioration.
Thanks for all the great moments, Larry!
