I just found out from my mom that I got turned down for the last of many
scholarships I applied to last year; this one for the "National Science
Scholars" program (one of Bush's 1000 points of light), of which two
people were to be chosen from each of the 435 congressional districts,
one male, one female.
What's even worse than knowing I didn't get it is knowing that somebody
else in our congressional district did and knowing that I shouldn't be
feeling that way toward whoever those people might be.
and meanwhile, how much is bush spending on his reelection campaign????
(or how much did my congressman spend? definitely more than enough to put
ten kids through MIT from our district.) :o(
