It takes a while to get comfortable with birds... it helps to have one around that doesn't bite you... of course, mine isn't the smartest parrot in the world (as those of you who know him can attest), but he's like an avian teddy bear sometimes. And he's smaller than a cat, and can be effectively caged with no guilt. :-)
