Re: The finality of things...

I heard your concert and was impressed. I understand fully what
you are experiencing since I am going through the same thing
with the concert band and brass ensemble. These are about the
only things I am not ready to leave. This year on band tour, I
pretty much fell apart at one concert because of the realization
that it would probably be my last tour. Tomorrow night, as I'm
sure you know, is the last concert of the concert band as well
since we are also playing for the showcase concert. I am
definitely reacting to this being the last concert I will play
with the band as a student here. Yesterday, the brass group
playing for the "coronation" of Charles Vest rehearsed in
Killian court causing me to miss the LAST brass ensemble
rehearsal. This was also upsetting to me.

The funny twist to the band situation is that the band will be
going on tour to Virginia next year well I will be living.
Thus, there may be one more chance to play in the band.

Although there are certain unique things about playing in MIT
groups (everyone is bright, interested, and doing it because
they really want to), I know a person (Ray Zepeda) who was in
the Festival Jazz band while he was here. He was, as you
probably know, very involved with this group. Now that he's
been out for some time, he is playing with a few groups in the
LA area and seems to be happy enough with that.
