Gee, I hate when that happens. I'm in the middle of a similar
situation. This past August when I was filling out my medical forms
for entering MIT as a grad student, I was told my someone from the
medical department that I could simply write 'Continuing Student' at
the top of the form since I was re-entering MIT within a year of
graduating (September '89). If I couldn't have done that, I would
simply have had a medical examination from MIT or somewhere else that
accepts MIT's employee health plan; thus it wouldn't cost me anything.
A few weeks ago, I got a letter saying that I still needed a medical
examination. For one thing, the medical department didn't have record
of the fact that I was a registered student in the Summer of '89.
When I told them that I was, they said it didn't matter. So now they
want me to have an examination at my own expense since the examination
is a 'pre-matriculation' requirement.
Grrr...
