i'm sorry you discounted your own experience; i expect that your experience was "separate but equal" ... certainly as traumatic, but of a slightly different nature. it is certainly true that my experience with this phenomenon (a date rape) matches this description. some years later, i'm largely over it, but the issues (then and now) are very different.
