the only non-PBS TV i watch is the Simpsons and the Cosby Show.
what makes you think the real world will be any better? it will be at
least as hard to meet people (and it can be a *real* drag if you get a
job in a place that resembles your lab, which is not unheard-of).
cultural elitism? sure, it's all over the place. that's part of what
makes a community in some circles.
it sounds like your dissatisfaction is not with the Institute, but
with the quality of your own life. you can't blame that on the
Institute. it isn't reasonable for you to depend on your workplace
for a current set of best-buddies.
