There was a song with that line in it (Title: "I wish my mom was a biker chick"
by lenny & ziggy) "Hey zig, do you ever think, like, you must be adopted,
cause, like, noone else in your family is *from* this planet?"
I refused to go home for easter one year, but balanced it with this being
good for my career long-term (I was meeting some crazy deadline, I think)
and Mom was upset, but calmed down soon enough (when she thought it through,
her business instincts overrode, and helped her convince herself that it
was a good idea that I do this....) Large amounts of stress at the time
(also a spring break) but good long term affects.
