Who was it that was having problems with xmodem/ymodem/zmodem
up/downloads through the pasta concentrators?
Could this have anything to do with the X.25 proto translators as well?

I was able to figure this out and perhaps the answer will help someone else
with a similar situation
->I recently installed an ASM. There are a few things that aren't working
->quite right. We have devices attached to the terminal server that are
->capable of transfering binary files successfully with kermit, but not
->Xmodem, Ymodem, Zmodem and a few other protocols. our typical setup looks lik->the following:
>
->Line 35, Location: "cs308(dataswitch lines to TS)", Type: ""
->Length: 24 lines, Width: 80 columns
->Baud rate (TX/RX) is 9600/9600, no parity, 1 stopbits, 8 databits
->The escape character is "^^", followed by "x"
The escape to the terminal server feature was hanging us up. Changing this back
to the break key with the TERMINAL NO ESCAPE command
->The local hold character is disabled
->Software flowcontrol in and out
Though for up/downloading there can be differnt combinations, we have the
users specify TERMINAL NO FLOWCONTROL SOFTWARE IN or OUT
->Action characters: stop is ^S (19), start is ^Q (17)
->Status: Ready, Active, No Exit Banner
->Capabilities: Software Flowcontrol In, Software Flowcontrol Out Autobaud
I changed this to MODEM RI-is-CD, and set this to FLOWCONTROL HARDWARE OUT
and made appropriate changes to the wiring on the ASM.
In addition to these changes the TERMINAL TELNET-TRANSPARENT was necessary
for most file transfer protocols.
->Xmodem uploads will not begin, Ymodem uploads complain about short blocks,
->etc. Kermit seems to complete any file transfer that is started.
Because it's seven bit, and does not send control charcters in the actual
binary sequence.
->Some of the things I have attempted are specifying are:
->
->terminal telnet-transparent
->
->no flowcontrol software in/and/or/out.
The escape character I had set up. Just for info, we won't be changing our
defaults. We have decided to inform people of what needs to be performed
before a file transfer is started. We have systems on campus that require the
use of the break key for specific functions.
->
->I know that this problem doesn't come close to some of the situations that
->are posted here, but it is one that I have to deal with. I'm hoping that
->I'm overlooking the obvious.
