First of all, I've cleared up some space in the sipb filesystem by
doing the following:
1. The NeXTetc, NeXTlib and NeXTbin filesystems have been removed.
They were useless anyway, since the binaries were too old to be
compatible with NeXT version 1.0.
2. prototype/tex-thesis and prototype/scribe-thesis have been put into
compressed tar archives. There is a README file in the prototype
directory explaining how to get to the thesis filesystem, which is
more up-to-date.
This has given me the space to do the following:
1. Install the mips version of xfig.
2. Install a new rrn for all platforms. This is the Patchlevel 44
version, which has not previously (to my knowledge) been installed
in the sipb locker.
I've got this version of rrn looking in
/usr/sipb/lib/rrn/$hosttype, rather than in
/usr/sipb/etc/${hosttype}progname, so we've got two versions of the
auxiliary news programs installed in the lcoker right now. In a
couple of weeks, I will get rid of the old versions, thus clearing
up some more space.
