xscreensaver has been in the release for quite a while (I worked on it
when I was a watchmaker, so the summer of 1999 release...that's 8.3?),
and it interacts *really badly* with SIPB xscreensaver and other
similar tools. I haven't seen that many people losing recently, but
it still happens occasionally. Perhaps we should deprecate SIPB
xscreensaver and remove it from the locker altogether?
