Unfortunately, there's no easy way to set up mail sorting, and it
is easy to lose some of your mail while trying to set up some
sort of filtering system.

I use MH and /usr/athena/etc/slocal to sort my mail.
Many people use emacs gnus to read (and sort) their mail.

In theory, it should be possible to sort mail and then read it
with pine, but I don't know someone who does this. (There are
tools in the sipb locker which could be used for this: procmail,
and helper programs of fetchmail and formail.)

Sorry that this wasn't more helpful,
