What were you trying to do?
use host explorer (the pc ktelnet) zmodem file transfer
on a sun (not where I'm filing the bug report from)
What's wrong:
/mit/sipb/arch/sgi_53/bin/rz works fine on sgi. however,
fastcart (and I've confirmed this) find that the same program
/mit/sipb/arch/sun4x_55/bin/rz on sun platforms fails to work. the
sending end alternates between claiming to have sent a block and
having sent 0, the time to send jumps around, and even if you
wait...nothing gets sent.
fastcart noticed this on the dialups. I've also tried a private sun
workstation, and it shows the same problem.
I don't think it means anything, but this is the stty info on the sun
side:
athena% stty
speed 9600 baud; evenp hupcl
swtch = <undef>;
brkint -inpck icrnl -ixany imaxbel onlcr
echo echoe echok echoctl echoke iexten
Just because I've seen the "tty interface" mess up the zmodem
transfers. Oh, I tried setting it to -parity, and it still had
trouble.
Is there any significant difference between rz on the sun and rz on
the SGI?
What should have happened:
rz should work the same on sun as on SGI.
