Sirs: Help, help help. Back in the dark ages of the energy crises in '74
the then called MIT Technology and Information Center created one of the
finest inventions of the century. It was a PVC extrusion that contained
a lineal magnet. This extrusion held a section of polycarbonate onto a
thin steel strip producing the world's first magnetic interior storm
panel. I have original samples of this magnetic edge. I currently build
updated versions of this window using a magnetic edge produced by the
SealMaster Corp. of Knoxville, Tenn. However, it is most definitely not
as good as the edge your people developed. I am seeking information on
whether MIT has granted license to manufacture this edge to someone or
if the license is available. Any information you could lprovide would be
most deeply appreciated.
