Date: Sun, 29 Sep 1996 20:54:46 -0400 From: David K Krikorian <dkk@MIT.EDU> To: charon-maintainers@MIT.EDU, bug-sipb@MIT.EDU The websterd on Charon appears to have been hosed. It is fixed now. I was getting very long delays from the webster client for some words (e.g. those not in the dictionary, and "synchrotron", but not "tree"). Charon is the first of the three machines returned by the command `hesinfo webster sloc`. I killed the websterd on Charon, and let /etc/init restart it. The problem went away. The daemon gets restarted every day at 04:33, so it wasn't running very long. And the modtime on the file is October 1, 1995, so this isn't a new version. I've been having webster hang on me for a few days now. Any thoughts on what would be causing the problem? Has it been observed before? -- David Krikorian <dkk@mit.edu>, radio: KA1NAP, groups: APO LSC SIPB SPORK, employment: MIT/IS/Service/ASO (Athena Server Operations)
