I have been reliably able to get xscreensaver to permanently lock my
screen. I've managed to do this about 5 times in the past two weeks.
At first, I was unable to get the password prompt. I had velocity set
to zero. At this point zephyr traffic was heavy, and they weren't
popping away like they normally do. So I figured the password window
was hiding underneath the non-disappearing zephyr-grams and I couldn't
see it. So I set velocity to 20, and the next time I tried it, I kept
hitting space to get the prompt. I got a prompt once in about 15
minutes of trying and my password didn't work. I tried again. I
discovered that a mouse click will consistently get a prompt where the
space bar will not. In any case, I tried my password over and over
again and never did get out of it. I got the prompt, typed in my
password. Then, after about 15 secs, the prompt would go away, and it
would keep floating.
Yes, I checked caps lock.
No, I haven't changed my password recently.
Can you tell me what the problem is? All my .files should be readable.
